Anthroposophy is a philosophy developed by Rudolf Steiner, PhD that “is a path of knowledge aiming to guide the spiritual element in the human being to the spiritual in the universe.”  The Anthroposophic Society for America states that Anthroposophy is a discipline of research as well as a path of knowledge, service, personal growth and social engagement….it is concerned with all aspects of human life, spirit and humanity’s future evolution and well-being.”

Indeed it takes up practical initiatives in the world, including Waldorf schools, Camphill communities, Biodynamic farming, RSF Foundation for investing, and Anthroposophic Medicine.

Anthroposophic Medicine was developed by Rudolf Steiner, PhD in collaboration with Dutch physician, Ita Wegman in the early 1900s.  Drs. Steiner and Wegman took the foundation of the teachings of western medicine and added an inner path of schooling so physicians could “see” spiritual forces at work and provide therapies to promote patients’ self healing or “salutogenesis”.

Hospice Care is specialized care provided to patients in the last 6 months of life, with comfort as the primary goal, rather than cure. (as distinguished from palliative care.)  Each patient is cared for by an interdisciplinary team of hospice professionals who attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the individual and his or her family.  Patients may still choose to take medications to manage but not cure their illness, and choose not to return to the hospital for tests and procedures that the patient does not want anymore.

Life Limiting Illness is an illness that typically causes death within a 2 year time frame as part of its usual course.  This can be the case with some cancers, and many of the late stages of serious organ failure such as lung, heart, kidney, liver or pancreatic failure, if transplantation is not an option.

Mistletoe Injections for Cancer

Mistletoe (Viscum album) injections are a unique therapy for cancer.  Basic science research shows both immune enhancing and cytotoxic effects of mistletoe.  Clinical research shows improved quality of life and increased tolerance for chemotherapy and radiation as the most consistent benefits of mistletoe use.

The use of mistletoe is true spiritual care because it calls your own higher spiritual forces back into the site of cancer to bring more control to uncontrolled cancer growth.

Palliative Care is specialized medical care of life limiting illnesses that focuses on reducing the symptoms, pain and stress while still pursuing curative treatments, which distinguishes it from hospice care.  The goal of palliative care is to improve quality of life for both patient and family. Care is provided by a team of doctors, nurses, social workers and other specialists who work with the patient’s doctors to develop a plan of care. Palliative care is an extra layer of support and the team can offer information and guidance for complex medical decisions.

Therapeutic Eurythmy.  To spiritual vision, specific movements occur in our etheric life bodies with each specific speech sound.  Eurythmy started as an artistic discipline that made speech “visible” in artistic performances.  Therapeutic Eurythmy movements have a healing effect on the imbalances that occur in the etheric life body during illness.
